Grandma's Noodles

Grandma's Noodles

2 1/2 c flour
6 Tb melted margarine
4 eggs
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking powder

Mix, roll, cut (this was my grandma's description! )

These noodles do not have to dry, you can cut them and throw them right into the boiling broth, or you can let them sit a while, it doesn't  matter. I cut these noodles very thin, cause they do puff up when cooked. Hope this recipe helps you and is what your looking for.

When I make them, I boil a chicken overnight with salt, pepper and a touch of garlic powder. I remove the chicken and toss in the noodles along with some chopped parsley to make them look pretty. Chop up thechicken and throw it back in after the noodles have cooked and you've
got dinner.

Wild Rice With Cranberries

Wild Rice With Cranberries

6 oz box wild rice
2-1/2 cups chicken broth
2 tbsp butter or margarine
1 large onion, sliced
2 tsp brown sugar
1/2 tsp allspice
1 cup dried cranberries
1 tsp orange zest
1/2 cup toasted pecans or pine nuts

Prepare wild rice according to package directions, using chicken broth
instead of water; exclude seasoning packet. Melt butter in skillet and
add sugar and onion. Cook over medium heat until liquid is absorbed.
Turn heat to low and continue cooking until onions caramelize, about 10
minutes. Add cranberries, allspice and orange zest. Cover and cook about
5 minutes until cranberries plump. Put rice in a serving bowl and add
onions and nuts. Serve hot.
Serves six.
